Hello.
It's been a while I introduced a blog, then one of the first in the philanthropic arena. Here goes mine, altho I've had this Blogger account since Sept 2008. About me...
Industrial zen is an artful phrase I once heard to describe my loft in San Francisco. I imagined the image as fetching. I like contrasts--such as in college when voted for the first time for Pres. Reagan while taking enough classes in econ and philosophy (unsure which I liked better) to get degrees in both fields, before heading straight to law school. Since then, I've joined real and seeming expeditions, in and outside the office, all the while thirsty to tackle new, harder challenges. Mostly located in the Silicon Valley and having something to do with investments in new technologies or innovative approaches to solving problems. Also in remote areas such as the Himalayas. Since '06 I've been helping to lead an impressive organization working to positively address global poverty, global public health and climate change. Recently, I enthusiastically supported the election of Pres. Obama.
So, I suspect my thoughts expressed here will evolve around themes of innovation & learning, and of questioning paths taken, of where to go next (there's always a next) and, of course, of "the system". Reflections posted re: interesting places I've found myself will be based on my honest memory and perception, both of which run the risk of containing vast imperfections. I hope to be interesting, open and at times, meaningful and provocative. I think I have a lot to say. From time to time.
Cheers,
@gregorymiller
